Meet Mark Harvey 
Teaching Digital Illustration on Mondays and Wednesdays from 1:40-3:45 in HS 119
Mark Harvey is a graphic designer, photographer, and self-publishing artist living in Los Angeles. 
In addition to editing, designing and publishing the Fluxion art journal, Harvey is currently working as a freelance graphic designer and teaches Graphic Design at Pasadena City College, in Pasadena California; as well as a series of digital photography workshops for Glendale Community College, and starting in February a digital Illustration course for Glendale College.
He also maintains a studio at the Keystone Art Space in Glassell Park and is contributing member of Create LA– a youth arts educational organization. Harvey is among the founding members of Pasadena Photography arts, who are dedicated to the promotion of photographic arts in the Pasadena environs; encouraging and supporting established and emerging fine art, documentary and conceptual photographers through promotion, exhibitions, publications and educational programs.
He also belong to numerous professional associations such as AIGA (American Institute of Graphic Arts), College Arts Association, and the Society of Photographic Educators.
Harvey, originally from Hopewell, Virginia, studied Communication Arts and Design at Virginia Commonwealth University, in Richmond VA from 1983 to 1987 under the direction of Phillip Meggs, and received an MFA in photography from the Maryland Institute, College of Art, under the direction of Will Larson, from 1993 to 1995.
Since moving to Los Angeles in 1995, Harvey has worked in editorial publishing, fine art publishing, entertainment design for the motion picture industry, corporate branding and advertising design, as well as a photographer, gallery directer and content developer.
